Boasting an aggressive profile and rugged hull construction, the Viking 40's cockpit and interior are big for a 40-footer. Notable, too, are the balsa-cored hull sides; in fact, the Viking 40 was one of the early production boats to pioneer this technology. Steel engine mounts were also employed, which have now become a Viking trademark. The flybridge has bench seating to starboard and forward of the helm. The custom canvas hard top was added 5 years ago. The feel of roominess continues from the cockpit to the salon and down into the galley and forward stateroom.
